Levine JCC Cares
The Levine JCC wants to engage our members in a variety of social action programs within the community. Under the banner of Levine JCC Cares, we will bring our community together to perform Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and Gemilut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness).
Through Levine JCC Cares, we will provide opportunities for families, seniors, young adults and teens to serve the greater Charlotte community in ways that connect us with others and are motivated by the pressing issues of the day.
If you are interested in becoming part of this program, please contact Julie Rizzo, Director of Development and Social Action, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (704) 944-6730.

This program brings the simple childhood joy of birthday parties to homeless children, a first-time experience for many, while giving them a sense of recognition and value on their special day, and creating a time of togetherness for families experiencing the challenges of homelessness. Birthday celebrations are held at area shelters serving homeless children and families. The celebrations bring birthday joy and recognition every month to homeless children at shelters or housing/program facilities across the greater Charlotte area. Children and families at the shelters are invited to the parties and those with birthdays in that month are celebrated. There are two ways to get involved – choose one or both!
Food, drinks and desserts: The volunteers who Adopt-a-Party are asked to provide dinner and/or drinks and desserts. If you are unable to attend a party, but would like to contribute, the donation of gift cards to Costco, Harris Teeter and Pizza Hut would be greatly appreciated. The gift cards can be in any amount. Please drop them at the front desk of the LJCC.
Attend a Party: The LJCC has agreed to “Adopt-a-Party” for the following dates and times. At the parties, volunteers assist with set-up and decorations, helping the children with party programs and activities, serving food & beverages, passing out goody bags, and assisting with clean up.
Rock Hill Children’s Attention Home: All parties at the Rock Hill CAH are from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children over the age of 10 years are welcome. Maximum number of volunteers is six (at least two adults).
