Teens (Middle & High School)

From adventurous field trips and summer camps to community service, you'll find a way to connect with other teens here at the J.  And don't forget year-round programs to have fun on your days off, prepare for College Admissions, and even improve your self defense skills. There are a lot of ways to get involved as a teen at the JCC. The JCC offers a chance for teens to hang out, socialize, and get to know each other better in a safe and inviting location.  There’s something for everyone - so CONNECT WITH US!

Enrichment Programs

The Princeton Review: 9th–12th Grade
The Levine JCC is proud to announce its partnership with the Princeton Review. JCC members receive special discounts. Students will learn score raising strategies from expert teachers in a dynamic structured setting. For more information and course schedules please visit www.PrincetonReview.com.

College Application: Essay Writing and Interview Process: 9th-12th Grade Students and their families 
There is more than just filling in boxes when applying for college. Join us for two discussions focusing on the essay and interview portions of the application process. . (Online registration not available)

Red Cross CPR/First Aid Courses: 6th-10th Grade
Learn First aid and CPR through this Red Cross certification class led by a trained instructor. Knowing First aid and CPR is an important skill that helps build confidence by knowing you can help someone in need as well as yourself if ever home alone or babysitting.

School's Out Trip: 6th - 8th Grade on January 22nd
Join other teens as we take a trip to Kinetic Heights and work together to train like ninjas. Pizza lunch included.

The J After Dark: 6th - 8th Grade on January 20 & March 10
Enjoy the JCC after closing hours! Have the gym to yourself for basketball and volleyball. We will have ping pong, Xbox games, giant Jenga and Connect Four! Soda, pizza and snacks for purchase. We will use the Portico Entrance for drop off and pick up.

Volunteer

Mitzvah Program: 6th–8th Grade on February 19 & April 29
Join other teens as we volunteer to do our part in Tikkun Olam, “healing the world.” We will collaborate with community service organizations and other Jewish Agencies to promote community engagement and build partnerships. 

Sports & Fitness

JHoops Middle School Academy: 6th–8th Grade
Academy will focus on teaching individual skills with an opportunity to apply them immediately to game situations. New skills will be taught each week, followed by full court games in which your child will get detailed instruction as well as individual attention.

Girls Volleyball: 4th–8th Grade
Learn to play this fun sport. Proper technique, skills, drills, and game play are covered in this non-competitive class

Teen Fitness Center Orientation: 13–16 year olds
Successful completion of this orientation allows youth access to the David Silverman Fitness & Wellness Center. Introduces strength training and cardio equipment. Emphasis on proper equipment selection, form, breathing, fitness center rules, regulations and etiquette.

Teen Beginner CRUSH: 12–17 year olds
Teaches the fundamentals of play, including proper stroke mechanics, basic point play, basic rallying skills, and basic tennis conditioning. Designed for the player with limited playing experience.  Learn More

Junior CRUSH Tennis Academy: 11–18 year olds
Players must be approved by tennis staff to enroll in this class or be a part of our Quick Start or 18 and Under teams. Emphasis placed on point construction, rally skills, and basic tennis conditioning. Twice per week recommended for all competitive players. Learn More

JFORCE Youth: 5th - 10th Grade
JFORCE Youth is a non-sport specific clinic for youth in grades 5th - 10th.  The clinic is designed for the athlete or non-athlete, and consists of an overall fitness program designed to improve body strength and endurance, speed and agility. Learn More

Cultural Arts

Bellydance Level 1-4: Ages 14+
Beginner through advances class emphasizes technique and choreography. Soft shoes, comfortable dancewear and exercise mats needed.
