Kids (K-5th Grade)
We offer a variety of programs and classes for K-5th (5-10 year olds).
JHoops Fundamentals: K-4th Grade
Learn basic basketball fundamentals, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and offense in this fun, non-competitive class.
Beginning Gymnastics: K–3rd Grade
An introduction to the world of gymnastics. Learn the basics of all four Olympic events: Vault, Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. Prior gymnastics experience not required.
Floor Hockey: K–5th Grade
Want a fast-paced, action-packed sport? Learn basic hockey skills, strategy and game play.
Maccabi All Sports Class: 2nd - 5th Grade
Calling all future Maccabi athletes! Now’s your chance to learn the game or improve your skills in traditional team sports, like baseball, soccer and basketball. Plus, get introduced to new sports, like kickball, table tennis, wally ball and more!
Taekwondo Classes: K–7th Grade
Teaches blocks, hand strikes, kicking, forms, self-defense, sparring combos, footwork and board breaking thru fitness drills, fun games and team activities. Students also practice discipline, focus, goal-setting, respect, positive attitude, honesty, teamwork and perseverance. Click here to enroll.
Flag Football: K-5th Grade
Introduces football basics, strategies and game play. Non-contact, non-competitive class.
Fencing Classes: 7 - 12 year olds
Students will be introduced to learning the skills of attacking and defending with either the foil, epee or sabre. Fencers develop good coordination, balance and flexibility which makes this training an ideal means of keeping fit for all ages and abilities. Click here to enroll
Kids Yoga: K–5th Grade
Introduces children to Yoga postures in a class designed specifically for kids. Fun activities, games, breath and body awareness.
Girls Volleyball: 4th–8th Grade
Learn to play this fun sport. Proper technique, skills, drills, and game play are covered in this non-competitive class.
Tennis Lessons: 5–18 year olds
Emphasizes stroke work, court knowledge, and games involving tennis skills. Learn more.

Cultural Arts Classes
J Stage Jr.: K–5th Grade
Young artists will work together to mount a musical production over the course of 3 months. Students can choose to audition for featured roles or be in the ensemble and also create scenery, props, and costumes. Enjoy skill building activities in improvisation, creative movement, and playwriting, as well as guided instruction in visual art projects.
J Steps Dance Explosion: 1st–5th grade
Boys and girls will enjoy an active and fun introductory class that will expose them to all styles of dance, including jazz, hip hop, tap and ballet. Click here to enroll.

Youth Group Swim Lessons: 5-10 year olds
Youth classes are great for children who have not had the opportunity to learn to swim at a young age as well as for those that wish to become better swimmers. Designed for children to learn in an environment appropriate to their age and developmental level.

We are a community-wide recreational swim program offering a supportive and flexible approach to swim team.

JQUEST Family Edition: K-5th Graders with their parents
Make a difference! Volunteer! Choose your way to help at Shalom Park as we host Room In The Inn: set up, bag lunches, make dinner, serve food, drive, or act as an overnight monitor for our guests. Time of assignment varies depending on task. Saturday, January 26 Saturday, February 23
Charlotte Checkers vs. Hartford Wolfpack: An afternoon of fun and excitement for parents and their kids as they go and cheer our local hockey team, the Charlotte Checkers as they take on the Hartford Wolfpack. Go Checkers! Saturday, March 23 • 6pm

JTEAM: K - 5th Grade
Two-Time Winner of a “Best of Best Award” by Charlotte Magazine for ‘Best place to send your kids after school 2014 Winner of “Gold Daisy Award” by Macaroni Kid for ‘Best After-School Program.’ Located in the Activity Centers at Camp Mindy, we are committed to providing a well-rounded experience for your child. Transportation to the Levine JCC from select locations. Homework is supervised by year-round trained staff. Daily activities include drama, arts & crafts, computer lab and more!
Elementary Edge at the LJCC offers a new childcare option for our members and their children ages 5 to 12 years old.
Parent's Night Out, Kid's Night In
Kid Tested, Parent Approved! Parent's Night Out is a fun-filled Saturday evening program offered 6 times a year. Open to JCC members only with children 7 weeks - 11 years old. Save the dates: December 15, February 16, April 13. (Online registration not available)
Summer Camps & Winter/Spring Break Camps
The Mindy Ellen Levine Day Camp, located on a lush 54-acre campus in the heart of South Charlotte, is the Levine JCC's premier traditional day camp for preschoolers thru teens. We believe that a summer camp experience can have positive and lasting benefits for your child. Through making friends, participating in an array of activities, learning new skills, being outdoors, and experiencing Judaism, camp becomes a magical place where campers have fun, grow and develop positive self-esteem.
