A Customer Service Associate is needed for the Levine Jewish Community Center! This excellent opportunity serves our members as front line customer care for the center.

Who we are

The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a non-profit, social service agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values.

The Center provides and initiates diversified social, educational, recreational and cultural programs within a Jewish setting.

The JCC is a partner in serving the community, is affiliated with the JCC Association of North America and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte and United Way of Central Carolinas.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Associate is responsible to welcome members and guests upon entry to the Levine JCC.  The Customer Service Associate must politely, but consistently, ensure all members who enter the LJCC Fitness Center are current in their membership status.  The Customer Service Associate will eagerly assist members/customers in person or on the telephone regarding programs and services offered at the LJCC until their needs are met.

Job Requirements :

Core Responsibilities and Activities

  • Greet and assist members/customers upon entry into the Levine JCC in a professional, courteous and cheerful manner.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional, courteous manner, and direct or transfer the customer to the appropriate person/agency.
  • Comprehend and become proficient in full functionality of the CRM System including, but not limited to, member check in, program registration, fee collection, vouchers, reservations, membership photos/cards, and information lookup.
  • Provide correct information to customers regarding activities, programs and membership services offered at the Levine JCC in a proactive manner.
  • Resolve conflicts in a professional manner and/or engage supervisor to assist with conflict resolution.
  • Follow all established procedures and rules.
  • Become fully versed and able to execute current LJCC security and emergency rules and regulations effectively.
  • Become fully versed and may manage health screening upon check in for COVID.
  • Handle all member and agency information in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Perform additional duties (e.g., mailings, special projects) assigned by LJCC Management as needed.


  • High School Diploma. Relevant customer service experience preferred.
  • Exceptional people and communication skills (in-person and on the telephone).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle and resolve challenging situations.
  • CRM experience would be a plus.
  • Proficient typing and computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet. Training will be provided on the LJCC Spectrum Management system. 

Special Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Expectation is a flexible work schedule that may include: early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.
  • Must have the ability to hear and understand incoming phone calls. Must have the ability to see in order to perform computer work.  Must have the ability to be easily understood in person as well as on the phone.
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature due to the office responsibilities. When working in this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. On occasion, the employee must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
