This class is designed for adults of all experience levels - from people who never learned to swim to those wanting stronger confidence and better technique. 

ISR goes beyond traditional swimming. ISR teaches very young children techniques designed to help them survive should they find themselves in the water alone. Only one parent per child allowed on the pool deck during these lessons. 

Lessons are 10 minutes in length at various times during the day.

Children under 1 year come for 4 weeks; children older than 1 year come for 6 weeks.

There are no specific "courses" listed below because this program is BY APPOINTMENT only. Please contact the LJCC to discuss available lesson times.

These classes help young children acclimate to the water with the comfort and security of parent/parents present. Children are introduced to basic water skills such as blowing bubbles, breath control, kicking, and floating. Students who are not potty trained should wear disposable swim diapers in addition to a reusable/washable swim diaper OR a disposable diaper with a snug-fitting swimsuit around the legs. Lifeguards are always on the pool deck during swim lessons.

Only one parent/caregiver is allowed in the water during class. All other parents are asked to please wait outside of the pool area during their child's swim lesson.

Children are learning to get comfortable with their bodies in the water through activities, songs and games. Swim diaper required.

Join Levine JCC JAWS Swim Team. Multiple options to choose from to accommodate your child's interest and skill level. Open to ages 5-18. 

Placement based on ability. All swimmers must be evaluated prior to registering for swim team – schedule with Erin Snyder at [email protected] 704-944-6876. A swim suit is required and included in the fee. 

To be eligible for the Greater Charlotte Swim League, ALL participants are required to be an LJCC member per our swim league requirements. Membership only during the swim team months is permitted; no joining fee required -- $25 processing fee. This Lifeguard Certification course is for individuals certifying for the first time or who have let their previous certification lapse more than 3 months. 

BLENDED LEARNING FORMAT:
• Combines Online & In-Person Learning
• Student will be required to complete online assignments prior to your selected class.
• Student will receive a link from the Red Cross (via SalesForce) for the online portion & course manual 1-week prior to your selected class and will have that time to complete the requirements for that portion. The section takes about 7-10 hours to complete.
• Student must bring printed confirmation of completed online portion to their first scheduled in-person class.
• On the first day of in-person class all students should be prepared to swim and have a change of clothes. More details will be communicated upon sign up.
• Class times are subject to adjustments based on class size.

Prerequisite: 300 yards swimming. Cost includes ARC fees.

For individuals re-certifying a current or set to expire Lifeguard Certification or it has been less than 3 months since it expired. 

• Both days for your selected class are in-person.
• Student should be prepared to swim, and bring a change of clothes.
• Class times are subject to adjustments based on class size.

This program is open to LJCC members only. No drop-ins are allowed at this time. 

Preschool Swim classes are taught by highly skilled and trained instructors. Lessons are divided into groups with specific goals – basic beginner (never participated in formal swim instructions or uncomfortable in the water), beginner, intermediate and advanced. Select desired day/time of lesson; then our trained instructors will assign your child’s class level based on ability on the first day of class.

Prerequisite: Children must be fully potty-trained to enroll in this program. The LJCC reserves the right to cancel enrollment, with no refund, for any child who is not fully potty-trained.

No return transfers back to CJP for any 3:30 pm preschool swim class. Please pick up at the LJCC Indoor Pool.
