40 Faces of the J

"My wife and I moved from Los Angeles to Charlotte about 8 years ago. From the moment we decided to settle in Charlotte, we knew we wanted to build our Jewish Community.

Joining the Levine JCC felt like a natural part of that process. We have been members ever since, but I stepped up my activity at the J a little over a year ago when I joined JFORCE. Before joining JFORCE I had never had a regular fitness routine. JFORCE has given me structure and community that has helped me develop healthy lifestyle choices and achieve significant weight loss goals. Where exercise was once a dreaded chore, it is now a welcome part of my daily routine.

The J has also been a special place for my twin 4 year old boys, Simon and Jonah. Both boys participate in Levine JCC specials at Charlotte Jewish Preschool, and they have attended Camp Katan over the past few summers. The J pools are also our weekend summer spot to beat the heat!

The Levine JCC feels like the right place for me and my family because it is a hub for many facets of my life, including physical wellbeing and support for my children."
