Safety Measures & Protocols

What are the requirements to enter the facility?

Members should arrive at the facility no more than 10 minutes before the time at which your class, court, lap lane, etc. is reserved.  All Members MUST enter and exit through the Pool Checkpoint. Upon entry please follow the defined signage.  Prior to entry you must strictly adhere to the following protocols:
1. All Members must sign a waiver prior to entering the facility (To fill out your waiver prior to arriving, click here for the adult waiverclick here for the minor waiver. The signature must be a physical signature; no e-signatures will be accepted).

2. All Members must have their temperature checked before they enter the facility. Members with a temperature over 100F will not be allowed to enter the facilities.
3. All Members must be able to successfully answer the four protocol questions. Please note, the protocol questions ask "do you consider yourself high risk" they do not ask "are you?"

What safety measures and cleaning procedures will you have in place?

The Levine JCC will be following cleaning and sanitization protocol recommendations of the CDC and NCDHHS. All cleaning products used are on the COVID 19 disinfectant list and our frequency and intensity of cleaning has been increased with a focus on high touch points.

How many times do I need to fill out the waiver?

After you sign and return your initial waiver, you will not have to complete a waiver on subsequent visits. On every visit all members will be required to take the health screening before attending your registered program or service.   (To fill out your waiver prior to arriving, click here for the adult waiverclick here for the minor waiver. The signature must be a physical signature; no e-signatures will be accepted).

Services & Operations

Why was it necessary for the LJCC to suspend its normal operations?

Our decision to suspend programs and services on March 13th was based on the guidance of health experts and the firm understanding that COVID 19 can only be abated by the immediate and sustained adherence to the social distancing and quarantine protocols recommended by the CDC and NC DHHS. We cannot implore you strongly enough to help to ensure for our entire community’s health by immediately practicing the social distancing and quarantine protocols of the CDC, now and throughout the near term. For as we say in our tradition, Kol yisrael arevim zeh bazeh - we are all responsible for one another.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank those individuals, organizations, and institutions who have joined us in this active commitment to community health, especially those who joined us by proactively suspending their operations before they were legally compelled to do so. We encourage everyone to recognize the severity of this moment, prioritize the needs of our at-risk communities, and insist on bravery in making the best choices based on the best, expert guidance.

What date will the JCC resume its normal operations?

The Levine JCC has resumed portions of our programs and services. The LJCC will resume additional programs and services based upon the guidance and recommendations of the CDC and NC DHHS, with the health and safety of our community as our primary responsibility.

Did you issue refunds for the days the LJCC has suspended its normal operations?

LJCC Membership is a diverse and engaging experience; even outside the walls of Shalom Park, we continue to explore ways to serve the community, engage our members, and deliver a unique experience for all. Even when we are closed during these times, expenses remain, which make the membership dues even more critical.

During the initial suspension period of March 13 – 31, 2020, membership dues for March were allocated to the full compensation and benefits of every member of our LJCC Family of Staff, regardless of employment status, number of hours worked, or role in the agency. However, we recognize that some of our members have suffered job loss or other substantial financial impact as a result of COVID 19, far in excess of the half-month of membership fees, therefore for those in need, we will facilitate a refund or credit.  For all requests, please contact our membership department at ljccmembership@charlottejcc.org.

Will my vouchers still expire or are you extending the expiration date?

All vouchers will be extended one year from the original expiration date.  For example, if you voucher was expiring May 10, 2020, the new date is May 10, 2021.

What if the LJCC resumes its normal operations but I am facing financial hardship due to these challenging times and can no longer afford my membership?

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the LJCC offers scholarships and other financial accommodations. If you are facing financial hardship, please reach out to the LJCC’s Membership office by emailing ljccmembership@charlottejcc.org to inquire about assistance options.

JTENNIS Facility

Why is play by reservation only?

Reservations allow the Levine JCC to maintain a record of every person playing tennis in the event we discover a player has contracted the COVID-19 virus. We will need to have adequate records to trace the interactions this player had with others, and the dates of those interactions, in order to be able to accurately report to NCDHHS. Your health and the health of the Staff of the Levine JCC is our top priority. We will not waver in our commitment to your health.
