Pool Schedules & Lane Reservations

The Levine JCC Aquatics Department has grown significantly over the past 3 years and our facilities are unparalleled in South Charlotte. Come out any day and you might see children learning to swim, adults getting their daily exercise, and our youth participating in friendly competition through the JAWS Swim Team.

Water Aerobics Schedule Lap Swimming Schedule

Lap lanes may be reserved at both the Indoor and Star pools one week in advance by LJCC members. Community members may not reserve lap lanes. Reservations may be made online by members with credentials or by calling the Customer Service Center at 704.366.5007.

Lap Lane hourly reservations will open 7 days in advance with a 2 hour delay. This is intended to enable swimmers who are swimming during the advanced opening of lap lane reservations. Here are a couple examples:

    1. A reservation for a 5:30am lap lane on Friday, May 27th, will open at 7:30am on Friday, May 20th.
    2. A reservation for a 9:30am lap lane on Friday, May 27th, will open at 11:30am on Friday, May 20th.

Lap Swim Reservations: Indoor Pool  Lap Swim Reservations: Star Pool

  • Members may reserve lanes up to four (4) times in a seven-day period for the Indoor Pool. Unless indicated Indoor Pool lap lanes are for two people per lane.
  • Members may reserve lanes up to five (5) times in a seven-day period for the Star Pool. Star Pool lap lanes are for two people per lane.
  • Reservations must be made in the name of the member who is swimming. Making reservations under a family member’s name to circumvent the reservation limit will result in the inability to reserve lanes.
  • As a courtesy to others, if you will not be using the lap lane you have reserved, please cancel the reservation at the earliest opportunity by calling the Customer Service Center at 704.366.5007. Repeated no-shows without cancellation of reservations will result in the inability to reserve lanes.
  • The Levine JCC has the authority to change your reservation to a different lane, if necessary. Please check your lane number with Customer Service or the Lifeguard upon arrival.

Private Swim & ISR Lessons are open to members and non-members. Please click the link above to fill out a request form for Private Swim & ISR lessons.  A Swim Instructor will contact you to set up lessons.

Aquatics Complex Policies & Procedures

Inclement Weather Procedure
In case of inclement weather, such as heavy rain with no thunder and lightning, fog, or temperatures below 75 degrees, the outdoor pool will close at the discretion of the Aquatic Director or Aquatic Supervisor. When the outdoor pool closes for inclement weather the indoor pool may open at the discretion of the Aquatic Director or Aquatic Supervisor.

Thunder & Lightning Safety
In accordance with the National Lightning Safety Institute, we will clear our outdoor and indoor aquatic facilities when we hear thunder or see lightning. They will remain closed until no thunder or lightning has been detected for 30 minutes. If the thunder and lightning occurs within 30 seconds of each other we recommend you seek shelter inside the main building or at least the locker rooms if you choose to stay. We do not recommend staying on the pool deck or under the umbrellas due to the inherent danger to you and our staff.

Indoor Pool Age Requirements
6 years old & under: Must be accompanied by a parent. The parent is required to be in the water with their child, unless the child is in a swim lesson with a swim instructor. 7-11 years old: Parent must be present on pool deck. 12 years & older: Permitted in pool area without parent present.

Fecal Contamination Pool Closing Policy
If there is a contamination of the pool the Supervisor will determine the area or areas affected and determine the likelihood of risk of spreading illness. A low risk would be treated for the most common contaminants and ‘down’ time could be as little as 4 hours. Any contamination with a possible high risk would cause the pool be ‘down’ for at least 8 hours to eliminate any risk of spreading illness. Individuals with bowel or bladder issues are required to wear a swim diaper or rubber pants.
