Pilates is a full-body conditioning system created in 1914 by Joseph Pilates. Pilates is a safe and effective total body workout for any age, body type or fitness level. Our individualized programs and the personal attention of our instructors will create the results that you are looking for. Whether you are recovering from an injury, training for an athletic event, or just want to "get in shape," Pilates provides a fun and challenging road to success.

The focus of the Pilates method is creating strength and flexibility through specific, focused and controlled movements. Special emphasis is placed on muscles that make up the "core", including the abs, glutes, back and hamstrings. Each session will strengthen your entire body and you will leave feeling strong, energized and refreshed!

Our Levine JCC-certified Pilates trainers utilize a series of exercises on both the mat and Reformer equipment which help you increase lean muscle mass without adding bulk.

Fitness Philosophy

“It is my passion to teach Pilates classes that are positive and engaging, where a client can be challenged and find what works best for their body. I encourage clients to achieve their personal best. I impart knowledge of body mechanics to help clients live a healthy lifestyle. I am certified to teach Barre and Pilates, and I am also trained in injury prevention and special populations. I am trained in classical Pilates and apprenticed under a 2nd generation teacher who practiced the traditional work of Joseph Pilates. In my spare time I enjoy partner dancing - a 20 year pastime that I still enjoy!”

In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body.    -Joseph Pilates

Fitness Philosophy

“Like Joseph Pilates himself, I believe that physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. Working out should be fun! Life is too short to dread workouts and be at the gym watching the clock run. Using the restorative properties of Pilates, my classes are challenging and intended to translate to everyday activities as well as enhancing any sport/exercise you participate in. Researching and consistently educating myself is something I take pride in to make my classes challenging and individualized for everyone’s specific goals.”

"My dance background lead me to the Ron Fletcher approach and I became Pilates certified at the Concentric Studio in LA in 2002. Fitness Philosophy

“Pilates, like yoga, can involve a lifetime of practice and can be adapted to benefit any age or fitness level. Ten years ago I began practicing Pilates privately with a certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor. I found Pilates a great complement to running, and it was truly the first form of body conditioning that I really enjoyed and looked forward to on a weekly basis. Our studio here has the finest equipment available and the LJCC has been wonderfully supportive of the Pilates program since its inception. I hope to continue to share my passion for Pilates with my friends and clients for many years to come.”

Fitness Philosophy

“Over the years I have tried many types of exercise, but when I discovered Pilates -- after a knee injury from running -- I realized my true fitness passion. Every session can be fun and interesting because there are hundreds of different Pilates exercises and because it can be adapted for all fitness levels and all ages. Even though Pilates was originally developed in the early 1900's, it is continuously evolving. I love surprising my clients with new movements and exercises to try! I do a lot of preparation before each session to help all of my clients to reach their goals, to challenge themselves in a safe environment and to have fun while doing it. Most importantly, I want my clients to leave the studio feeling stronger and more flexible and energized than they did when they walked in.”

Fitness Philosophy

“Four years ago as an empty nester, a new fitness journey took hold. I have completed 500+ hours of Comprehensive Certification through Club Pilates and an Apprenticeship/Applied learning program from Vital Movement, LLC. Physical Therapy with a Stott Pilates based practice. I found desire in helping others to feel successful in exercise through Pilates. Now I teach what I feel is most beneficial to my clients health and wellness, such as improved flexibility and enhanced muscular control. Joseph Pilates said, “Physical Fitness if the first requisite of happiness.” Our emotional health is linked to physical well being.”
