Levine JCC General Endowment Fund:  Donations to this fund support the long-term financial strength of the Levine JCC. As with many non-profit organizations, the LJCC relies upon an annual draw of its spendable allowance to sustain the operating expenses of the organization. The Levine JCC utilizes this fund to ensure for continued investment in our annual operations.

Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center General Endowment Fund: Donations to this fund support the long-term financial strength of the Levine JCC. Sandra and Leon Levine established this fund to ensure that the Levine JCC would be able to sustain its programs, services, classes, and facilities for generations to come. Please join them in investing in the Levine JCC to ensure that it is able to continue to deliver programs that build community for current and future generations of Charlotteans.

Judy and Stanley August Family Endowment Fund for Innovation: Judy and Stan August believe that any thriving organization has at its foundation innovative programs and services. They established this fund to ensure that the Staff of the Levine JCC are able to ideate and implement programs and services that will meet the ever changing needs of the members of the Levine JCC. At the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Levine JCC, this unrestricted fund provides for investment in new programs that are innovative, encouraging Staff to develop programs that are ahead of the curve.

Alene and Sam Strause Family Endowment Fund: Sammy Strause’s life revolved around four things: love of his family, Judaism, giving back to the Jewish community, and golf. Sammy believed in taking care of the members of his community and his daily actions reflected this belief. Time and time again, he ensured that Jewish community members in need had those needs met. This fund was established by Lisa Strause Levinson, Sammy and Alene’s daughter, to ensure that their legacy as passionate advocates for senior programming would be sustained for generations to come, thus ensuring that our community members age with dignity while actively engaged. Proceeds from the tournament will help to build the Alene and Sam Strause Family Endowment for the Levine JCC, which benefits the LJCC Oasis program for generations to come. 

Laurie Prager Dennis Endowment Fund: Laurie Prager Dennis ז״ל, had a special connection to Jacki’s Dance, an Adult Group Exercise Program. This fund was created in Laurie’s memory to provide financial support to members in need of Adult Group Exercise Programs. Working together with donors, we will build a community inclusive to all, please help us to ensure that no one will be turned away due to financial challenges.

Leon Levine Family Endowment for Camp Mindy: Camp Mindy is the flagship program of the Levine JCC and serves over 1,000 unique children every summer. The Camp Mindy day camp has grown over time to include robust offerings for preschool, school age, and teens through camp programs that emphasize Jewish identity and traditions. Through Jewish Life experiences, programs about our history and culture, this Jewish Camp ensures that these values and beliefs are truly L’dor v’ dor, from generation to generation. This fund supports the long-term financial strength of the Mindy Ellen Levine Day Camp, ensuring that Mindy’s legacy lives on through the lives of our community’s children.

Butterfly Project Endowment Fund: The Levine JCC Butterfly Project uses the lessons of the Holocaust to educate about the dangers of hatred and bigotry and cultivates empathy and social responsibility with support from this fund. Participants paint ceramic butterflies that are displayed as symbols of resilience and hope, to create 1.5 million butterflies around the world – one for each child who perished during the Holocaust and honors the survivors.

F.L.I.G.H.T. Endowment for Levine JCC: The Flur Leadership Internship: Goals & Heart in Theatre Endowment was established to cultivate talent from area high schools and develop them into future theatre professionals. The Endowment supports one Intern annually in a program to engage them in contributory roles in Theater at the J theatrical projects, a self-assessment, and a reflective practice curriculum. 

Leigh Jacobson Endowment Fund: Established in memory of Leigh Jacobson ז״ל to support the Oasis Senior Enrichment Program’s Senior Adult fitness activities which assist in strengthening seniors’ physical and mental health. These wellness activities were especially meaningful to Leigh. Investment in this fund ensures her legacy of working to provide ongoing health and fitness of our Seniors will always be a part of our program offerings.

Spil Endowment for the Levine JCC: Established in memory of Paul Spil ז״ל, provides funding to Youth Sports Programs at the Levine JCC, including youth sports leagues, sports classes, and Maccabi Games. Paul was a special Son, Brother, Father, and Friend. He loved sports and played basketball for Myers Park High School.  His favorite sport was softball. Paul played at the JCC and traveling local teams. Paul was born in Havana Cuba in 1951 and came to the states with his parents and 2 brothers fleeing from Castro in 1960.  His passing was way too soon at the age of 53 from cancer. He would be honored for his name to be associated with this fund and supporting youth at the JCC.

Bobby Rose Staff Development Endowment for the Levine JCC: Established in memory of Bobby Rose to provide funding for an Annual Fellowship for Professional Staff Development to a LJCC Staff Member(s). This fund will support ongoing staff development in honor of Bobby, a long time member, who appreciated the kind and welcoming staff at the LJCC.

Levine JCC Art and Culture including the Charlotte Jewish Film Festival and Community Events: Whether you are attending an Art and Culture event or our annual Charlotte Jewish Film Festival, our goal is to engage diverse communities through curiosity, conversation and culture with entertaining and thought provoking programs and Jewish Films. Our sponsorship and strategic partner programs offer creative, integrated marketing opportunities across stage, screen, print and digital platforms.

The Sam Strause LJCC Invitational 15th Annual Golf Tournament: This event will return in 2024 at a date to be determined. The tournament benefits the Levine JCC Oasis Program to enhance the lives of those who participate in our adult daytime programming. The tournament is played in honor of Sam ז״ל Strause, a founder of the tournament and a passionate advocate for senior programming to ensure that our community members age with dignity while actively engaged. Proceeds from the tournament will help build the Alene and Sam Strause Family Endowment for the Levine JCC, which benefits the Levine JCC Oasis Program for generations to come.

The Levine JCC Kids Triathlon (LJCC Kids Tri): Sunday May 19, 2024 is about more than just good, fun athletic competition – it is about giving back. Children of all ages, athletic abilities and cultural backgrounds participate in swimming, biking and running for a cause: raising awareness of and funds for pediatric rehabilitative services at Levine Children’s Hospital and the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program, as well as adaptive and special needs programming at the Levine JCC. Your support is critical to our efforts. When your organization invests in a sponsorship of the LJCC Kids Tri, you invest in your community. You invest in the lives of your family, colleagues, employees, neighbors and friends.

Camp Mindy
The Mindy Ellen Levine Day Camp, located on a lush 54-acre campus in the heart of South Charlotte, is the Levine JCC's premier traditional day camp.  We believe that a summer camp experience can have positive and lasting benefits for your child. Through making friends, participating in an array of activities, learning new skills, being outdoors, and experiencing Judaism, camp becomes a magical place where campers have fun, grow and feel good about who they are. 

LJCC Cares/Social Action
The Levine JCC wants to engage its members in a variety of social action programs within the community. Under the banner of LJCC Cares, we will bring opportunities for families, seniors, adults and teens to perform Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and Gemilut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness) by serving the greater Charlotte community in ways that connect us with others and are motivated by the pressing issues of the day.. 

Oasis Senior Enrichment Program 
The mission of the Oasis Senior Enrichment Program is to enrich and prolong the quality of life for all seniors regardless of religious affiliation. We welcome all adults 60 and older from the greater Charlotte area, who are active and independent.

“The LJCC has been the center of our Jewish lives in Charlotte since we moved to town almost 15 years ago. CJP, soccer, interfaith basketball, Purim carnivals, Camp Mindy, Lifeguarding, the CJFF Screening Committee, the LJCC Executive Board, Butterfly Project, Kettle Bells, JForce and so much more... the list keeps growing! Is my donation tax-deductible?

The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record.

Can I mail in a donation?

Yes. Checks can be mailed to: Levine Jewish Community Center, Attn: Annie Keith, 5007 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. If you are mailing in a tribute gift, please make sure to include the full name and mailing address of the tribute recipient.

Do I get a receipt?

A donation receipt will be sent to you at the email address you provide on this form. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes.
